North Oxford AS switched their Brown Brothers Cup match against Charlbury from the Evenlode to the Oxford Canal at Three Pigeons Lock, where 17 fished.

Bill Townsend (NOAS) was first with 6.0.0 which consisted of a rare golden orfe of 5.0.0 and a chub. Les Ballard (NOAS) was second with 1.11.0 and Pete Anderson (Charlbury) third with 9oz 8drms.

With the river running bank-high, the annual Thame Championship was cancelled, but 14 Dorchester members decided to go over to Radley Fisheries and fish a match between themselves.

Three carp for 7.8.0 gave Collin Howlett first place, followed by Dennis Armstrong with 4.4.0 and Dave Head with 3.7.0.

Wallingford Jolly Anglers fished a club match on the Oxford Reach of the Thames which was carring an extra two feet of water and was the colour of oxtail soup.

Fishing a big slack and using the groundbait feeder, Phil Ansell put 15.11.0 on the scales comprising three bream up to 6lb plus some roach. Martin MacDonald was second with 1.2.0, followed by Ray Dandrige with 1.0.0.
