TV presenter John Craven OBE has been appointed a director of Banbury FM.
Banbury solictor Shaun Jardine, who is chairman of the Banbury Business Breakfast Club, has also joined the board of the radio station, which is seeking a permanent licence.
Mr Craven, who lives in Adderbury, is well known for his many years presenting John Craven's Newsround, Swap Shop and Countryfile, and he presented a Saturday show on Banbury FM during the station's trials last year. He was awarded the OBE in the millennium honours list for services to broadcasting.
Mr Jardine is the chairman of the North Oxfordshire Sporting Club and a member of Banbury Rotary Club. He also sits on a fundraising panel for the Oxfordshire Cheshire Home.
Station manager Andy Green said: "Having Shaun and John join the board is excellent news for Banbury FM as we continue our campaign for a permanent radio licence for north Oxfordshire."
