Two top companies in the computer retail business have merged to form the UK's largest High Street chain of specialist retail shops.
Time Computers has bought up Tiny Computers, which earlier this week went into administration, to form a new group to be called The Computer World. The move means the group will own 150 stores nationwide selling 3,000 lines of goods. It is hoped that turnover will reach £300m.
Both Time and Tiny have outlets in Oxfordshire. Time has one shop within Powerhouse in Bicester, another within Office World in Oxford, and a third in Lockheed Close, Banbury. Tiny has a shop in King Edward Street, Oxford.
