Morrells Sunday League round-up

SIX Bells reached the semi-finals of the President's Cup after a 2-0 win over Barton United, writes GEOFF BOWER.

But they left it late, Geoff Talboys grabbing their second to seal the win after Paul Faulkner put them in front.

Meanwhile, in Division 2 North Oxford Conservative Club won 4-1 against Northway, with goals from Julian McCalmon (2), Andy Wheeler and Paul Bough. James Gray was Northway's scorer.

Promotion contenders Arncott and Roebuck had to settle for a 3-3 draw in their Division 3 game.

A double from Steve Beard put Arncott ahead before Roebuck hit back to level.

Arncott, though were not to be outdone and were soon back in front, Andy Cox stabbing home Paul Anderson's cross.

However, with ten minutes remaining, Roebuck pulled level again and when Cox was sent off for a second bookable offence, Roebuck moved in for the kill.

Once again, keeper Harrison came to the rescue for Arncott to earn the man-of-the-match and ensure they secured a point.

Chequers at last toppled Division 5 leaders Priory with a 3-2 victory and leapfrogged into championship position.

Despite The Priory dominating the first 20 minutes, Chequers keeper Tom Billett kept them at bay, allowing Chris Potter to give them an interval lead when he turned and shot hard and low into the corner.

A Mark Simms penalty rebounded off Priory's post before Priory equalised.

But Potter soon had Chequers back in front when he lobbed the keeper and increased their lead still further when completing his hat trick.

Priory continued to press and managed to pull one back, but Chequers held on for the all-important victory.
