Kidlington Forum B defeated Bicester B 420-408 in the Oxford & District League's Handicap Shield semi-finals.
Giving away a huge handicap of 270 points, Forum slowly knocked off the deficit, but with three games to play the match was still very much in the balance.
Forum's Karl Bushell then defeated David Read 21-3, 21-9 and Greg Boone beat Andy Crofts 21-7, 21-3, before Forum took the doubles 21-7, 21-6 to win the match.
In the other semi-final, Holton A (scratch) beat Kidlington Forum F (+140 points) in a real nail-biting encounter.
Forum got off to a great start when Stephen Laird upset the formbook by beating Dave Nash 21-18, 21-20.
Brian Dobson then steadied the ship for Holton with some very consistent play.
With only the doubles left, Holton were still trailing by 17 points, but by winning 21-13, 21-7 they secured victory by just five points.
The final between Forum B (scratch) and Holton A (275 points) will be at the Gladiators Club next Thursday.
