The Vale Housing Association is warning tenants to beware of bogus contractors trying to gain access to their homes.
A man posing as a contractor tried to get into two properties in East Hendred, near Wantage.
Although he was not allowed in and nothing was stolen, he said he would revisit the property.
The association is urging tenants not to let anyone into their homes unless they show valid identification, and to call it on 01235 869200 if unsure.
