Oxfordshire completed their pre-season build-up with a 26-run victory over Oxford & Horspath at St Catherine's College, Marston yesterday.
In a game reduced to 48 overs a side by rain, Oxfordshire made 169-7 on a wicket where run-scoring was never easy.
Bicester & North Oxford's Ian Hawtin and Banbury Twenty's Richard Hawkins did their county prospects no harm with a splendid first-wicket stand of 99.
Oxford fought back well through their county all-rounders Ben Thompson (3-38) and Adam Cook.
In reply, Oxford were on course for victory with Thompson going well, but once he fell for 43, the innings subsided.
