This year's Eynsham carnival will be given an extra boost with the lively music of a Brazilian samba band.
Oxford's resident samba band, Sol Samba, is holding a series of workshops for people to pick up some basic rhythms on drums, bells and shakers.
They will then be integrated into the band taking part in the carnival parade.
The workshops begin at Eynsham Community Centre on Thursday, May 16, starting at 7.30pm, for people over 16.
The workshops are part of the Dynamix 2002 music festival, which is being sponsored by West Oxfordshire District Council.
Dynamix co-ordinator Jackie Singer said: "Sol Samba were greatly enjoyed in Witney at the launch of Dynamix 2002 in March and they gathered a huge following as they played through the streets."
Anyone interested in taking part in the samba workshops should contact the community centre on 01865 880380.
