Oxford Cheetahs' improved form will be put to the test when they travel to Brandon Stadium to take on Coventry Bees tonight in a Sky Sports Elite League speedway clash (7.30).
Cheetahs have already won there this season, coming out on top 48-42 in a challenge early in the season, but since then the Bees have returned the compliment at Cowley, where they ran out 46-44 winners in a last-heat decider.
Oxford's last visit to Brandon saw a polished all-round performance, including a paid ten-point haul from Coventry asset Brian Andersen, but the Dane is clearly not match-fit at the moment and will be hard pushed to get anywhere near that score tonight.
Coventry, who boast Grand Prix stars Billy Hamill and Andreas Jonsson, have recently acquired the services of former Cheetah Tomas Topinka at reserve.
Mark Lemon, who rattled up his best return of the season in the victory over King's Lynn on Monday, will be looking to improve on his last visit to Brandon when he managed just three points.
With the opening round of the Grand Prix just four days away, those involved need to concentrate on the job in hand, especially Lukas Dryml, whose consistency so far this season has left a bit to be desired.
A win is a must for Cheetahs if they are going to make the top five and the play-offs.
Coventry: Hamill, Robson or rider-replacement, guest, Janniro, Jonsson, Topinka, Fisher.
Oxford: Andersen, L Dryml, Johnston, A Dryml, Adams, Lemon, Appleton.
