Talented pupils from an Oxford school showed off their knowledge of the world in a geographical quiz.
The group from Oxford High School beat teams from across the South to win the regional round of the World Wise Quiz, organised by the National Geographic Channel, in Southampton.
Year 10 pupils Sophie Lane and Marua Dudareva, and Catherine Crick, from year nine, were also runners-up in the national finals, in Manchester, where they were praised for their general knowledge.
Deputy headteacher Maggie Evans said: "They are extremely bright girls and really rose to the challenge."
