Blue Boar are celebrating after winning the Division 1 championship at the first attempt, writes Mick Day.

They sewed up the title with a 4-3 midweek win at East Hendred.

It completes two great seasons for the Wantage side, who were promoted last year after winning the Division 2 title as King Alfred's FC.

A brace from Steve Cuddon, and a Robbie Spencer earned Brightwell a 3-0 win over Burford United. The closest Burford came to scoring was when Ricky King put a spot kick wide of a post.

Buckland clinched the Division 2 title for the first time, after a 5-0 thrashing of relegated Standlake Garage. Buckland, who needed only a point from the game to win the title, won the Division 3A Championship last season.

After a goalless first half, Buckland eventually made the breakthrough, when Gary Bradbury headed home Holder's corner, before they took control through Ben Harrison, who bagged a brace, with Steve Holder and substitute Ross MacDonald completing the scoring.

JPs got off to a flying start against The Crown, with keeper Darren Speys' 100 yard drop-kick bouncing over the head of his opposite number Lee Pratley to give them a 1-0 half-time lead.

But after the break The Crown took control with goals from Phil Jeacock, Stuart Jeacock, Jarrod King, Huw Mellor and Adrian Green.

George & Dragon kept their hopes of avoiding the drop alive with a 4-0 win over fellow strugglers Exiles 2000. They now lie just two points behind Exiles, whom they need to overtake if they are to avoid a swift return to Division 3.

Their goals were scored by Neil Tonner (2) and John Pearce (2).

In Division 3B a hat-trick from their top marksman Matt Peates helped Wallingford Exiles to a 5-1 win against Rutherford Laboratory Res.

Other strikes came from Paul Birch and Richard May with Rob Chilvers netting for Lab Res.

Bottom team Chilton Casuals finished their programme on a high, with a 7-2 demolition of Didcot Wheatsheaf.

Rob Taylor led the way with a hat-trick, while Simon Alder grabbed a brace. Gareth Jones and Frankum completed the rout, while John Noble bagged a brace for Wheatsheaf.
