An Oxford teenager who has been so traumatised by bullying that he has learning difficulties cannot be sent to a special school, a High Court judge ruled.
Mr Justice Goldring refused to overturn a decision made by the Special Educational Needs Appeal Tribunal last year.
The tribunal had ruled that the boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, should not be given a statement of special educational needs and was able to remain in mainstream education.
Mr Justice Goldring described the boy's plight as sad and difficult but said the courts should rarely overturn decisions made by bodies with professional experience.
He added that it was inconceivable the tribunal had not considered all the evidence in the case and concluded their decision was rational.
