Schoolgirls marked the start of summer in musical style, by taking part in traditional May dances.

Pupils at Oxford High School, Bardwell Road, dressed in rag jackets and cross-braces for an afternoon of dancing
Most of the girls at the Bardwell Road school joined the fun, accompanied by teacher Tony Cooper, who played the melodeon and pipe.
School spokesman Caron Ogle said: "The May dancing is an old tradition, and is a welcoming-in of the summer.
"It is always a fun and colourful afternoon."
