Blackbird Leys Sunday sealed a brilliant treble by beating Six Bells 2-1 to lift the President's Cup at Oxford City, writes Geoff Bower.
Having already beaten Bells in the OFA Sam Waters Cup final, at the same venue, they have already secured the Premier League championship with two games left to play.
Leys opened the scoring after 20 minutes when the Bells keeper failed to cope with a high ball, palming it into the path of the Nigel Swafford who fired home unchallenged.
They almost made it 2-0, only for a cross-cum-shot to hit the crossbar.
The second half started with Leys on top and on 20 minutes Dwight Jones hammered home after Bells failed to clear the danger.
However, after a flurry of substitutions Bells pulled a goal back from Simon Grossman, and Leys were forced to hold on as Bells threw men forward.
In the Premier Division, Star Wanderers's player-manager Mark Revill celebrated his 402nd appearance as they beat a below-par Rose Hill 3-1. Darren Maisey, Marcus Hall, and substitute James Butler were on target. Gary Trinder replied for Rose Hill.
Oxford YMCA ensured promotion from Division 2, but they left it late before beating Ashton Villa 6-3.
Ryan Dixon gave YMCA an early lead and Michael Yearwood made it 2-0, but Villa hit back to reduce the arrears within two minutes.
Yearwood restored YMCA's advantage with his second but Villa refused to lie down, grabbing their second before the break and levelling early in the second half.
This seemed to serve as a wake-up call for YMCA as Yearwood completed his hat-trick and two late strikes from Dave Jennings secured all the points.
The Nelson sealed the Division 4 championship with a 3-2 win over old rivals The Friar.
Delroy Thomas gave The Nelson a great start, before The Friar levelled, only for Steven Walsh to restore their advantage.
With 20 minutes left, Friar equalised again but Nelson were not to be denied with Thomas grabbing the winner with his second strike of the game, just five minutes from the end.
