Five people are feared dead after a passenger train derailed, smashing into a bridge and a station platform north of London.
The accident happened after the train left tracks after passing Potters Bar station in Hertfordshire.
Emergency services said five people were feared dead. Police have confirmed three people with life-threatening injuries, nine serious injuries, and between 25 and 50 walking wounded.
Casualties were given emergency first aid on the platform as fire-fighters battled to free trapped passengers.
A nearby Sainsbury's supermarket has been turned into an emergency first aid post as ambulances from across the region were sent to the scene.
