Eynsham Croquet Club is now trying to attract new players by holding an open day tomorrow.
One of only a small number of croquet clubs in the county, it will introduce visitors to the game through a version called golf croquet. The same equipment is used -- mallets, balls and hoops -- but the game is faster and designed to get all players more involved.
The club now has about 35 members and plays matches in the Southern Federation League. They set up court on the village's recreation ground in Oxford Road, but are hoping to get a specially dedicated area when the cricket club moves to a new ground in Cassington Road.
Throughout the summer, the club plays games on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The open day starts at 2pm.
