A time capsule has been buried at an Oxford school to give future generations a taste of local life.
Kidlington-based developers Kingerlee Ltd has been awarded a contract to build four classrooms and a computer room at St Barnabas Primary School, Jericho.
Designers left a space in one of the classroom walls for the capsule.
On Thursday, the vicar of St Barnabas, Father Michael Wright witnessed the capsule being buried. Among items included in the capsule were examples of pupils' work, a millennium photo, the Governors Report and a copy of the Oxford Mail's sister paper, the Oxford Times.
Kingerlee's project manager, Tom Gomm, said: "It so happened that a supporting pillar was designed with a hollow centre and so was an ideal place to store the capsule."
