Disabled residents at the Cheshire Home in Adderbury can look forward to a 'cool' summer -- thanks to a donation from a Banbury superstore.
A cheque for £1,900 from Sainsbury's has boosted funds for an electronically operated sun awning.
The awning will provide shade for residents who want to sit on the patio, and will also reduce the effects of the sun on people sitting in the home's lounge.
Neil Allan, Sainsbury's assistant manager, presented the store's contribution to the home's locum service manager Jan Phillips, and Chris Craggs, chairman of the fund-raising group. Mr Allan said: "The Cheshire Home has been our nominated charity for the past year."
Mrs Phillips said: "This sort of contribution makes a real difference to how we can make life more enjoyable for our residents."
Banbury Cross Round Table recently gave £1,000 to the awning fund.
Mrs Phillips also said: "Thanks are also due to the people of Banbury for their generosity at a collection day at Tesco's when, with the help of Banbury Lions, we raised £786."
