Thousands turned out to watch the spectacular night glow display of the Oxford Balloon Fiesta.
The sound and light show featured an array of tethered balloons lit up against the dusk sky to a background of classical and pop music. It came to a climax with a spectacular show of fireworks.
The display was the highlight of a two day event at Cutteslowe Park which organisers say was a great success.
Saturday and Sunday started with the launch of more than 20 balloons, some from private enthusiasts and others provided by specialist company Skypower. The event was organised by Oxford City Council and attracted 40,000 visitors.
Organiser Anna Dolan said: "All in all, it has been a huge success. We are very, very pleased.
"The fireworks display on Saturday night was special. And the gymnastics displays were brilliant too. People had a lot of stunning effects to see.
"There has been a roaring trade on the food stalls and the trade shows were very well organised."
The fiesta, supported by the Oxford Mail, has been held for the past five years, the last two at Cutteslowe Park.
While the balloons were the main theme of the weekend, there were also gymnastic displays, mountain bike stunts, falconry and horse displays and live music.
