Mark Johnston, who has already picked up three of this season's major Vodafone Derby trials, can add to that record with Sir George Turner in the Convergent Dante Stakes (2.55) at York tomorrow.

The Middleham-based trainer has produced the winner of the Heathorns Classic Trial in Simeon, taken the Victor Chandler Chester Vase with Fight Your Corner and picked up yet another trial with Bandari at Lingfield on Saturday.

But Sir George Turner is the only one of Johnston's middle distance team who holds an Epsom entry.

A son of the 1989 Derby winner Nashwan, Johnston's charge was a short-head second to Sohaib in the Philip Leverhulme Dee Stakes last Thursday, and he makes a quick reappearance here.

Sir George Turner will be tried in blinkers for the first time at the Knavesmire, and they could just sharpen him up enough to take what looks to be a sub-standard renewal. Sea Star is fancied to reverse Ascot form with Scotty's Future in the Pricewaterhousecoopers Hambleton Rated Stakes (3.25).

Henry Cecil's lightly-raced four-year-old was beaten nearly four lengths by David Nicholls' horse in the Sony Victoria Cup, but Sea Star met trouble in running and is 8lbs better off at the weights here.

Salim Toto looks the answer to the Listed Convergent Telecom Middleton Stakes (2.25).

The four-year-old filly was a runaway winner of the Stanley Racing Great Metropolitan Stakes at Epsom last time out.
