A computer college for adult learners in Oxford is to close, with the loss of 10 jobs.
The Oxford Learning Centre, above the Clarendon Centre, in Cornmarket Street, will shut at the end of June.
Run by Swindon College and funded by the Swindon and Wiltshire Learning and Skills Council, it has 400 students on virtually free courses. Some are blind or disabled.
Despite a reputation as a centre of excellence, it is being forced to close because its students are from Oxfordshire, not Wiltshire. The Swindon-based LSC says it is no longer able to fund education outside the Swindon area.
Tutor Chris Morgan said: "It seems criminal. No-one else offers this sort of service for ordinary working people.
"We're devastated. We're going to lose our jobs and are worried about who is going to teach the pupils.
"It's particularly bad news for people half way through their courses, as it means they have made all that effort for nothing."
