The ritual, which dates back hundreds of years, involves town councillors and other dignitaries drinking from a goblet.
As each drinks, a colleague stands at their back to show they will look out for one another while in office.
Planning consultant Mr Moor has put planning at the top of his agenda for the year and hopes the Wallingford Town Plan, which he has been discussing with residents at a series of public meetings, will help guide future developments in the town.
Dee Cripps is now the deputy mayor.
