Oxford United boss Ian Atkins says he is "not far away" from finalising which players will be leaving the club as his rebuilding process gathers momentum.
Atkins is expecting replies from players who have been questioned about their commitment and desire to play for the club.
Robert Quinn and Richard Knight have already had their contracts terminated, and it is believed Joey Beauchamp and Manny Omoyinmi have all had their futures thrown into doubt.
With the United players now back from holiday, Atkins says that he is close to finalising which of the current crop are staying and going, so that he knows where he stands with bringing new faces to the club.
"We're not far away from knowing everything now," Atkins confirmed last night.
"One or two have been on holiday, but they are back now so I can talk to them and get things sorted. I said I wouldn't rush things, and I haven't done.
"We have already got rid of two under contract, but those players did not have to go. If players want to knuckle down and work hard, I haven't got a problem with keeping them here."
