A teenager was kidnapped, bundled into the boot of a car and subjected to a series of assaults around Oxford.

Detectives are hunting two men who kidnapped the 18-year-old in Rymers Lane, Cowley.

They punched him repeatedly and forced into the boot of a black car at around 8pm on Wednesday.

He was driven to Shotover Country Park, Headington, where the men kicked and punched him.

The victim believes he lost a black New York Yankees' baseball cap during the beating.

The men then forced him back into the car boot and took him to Cutteslowe Park, north Oxford, where he was assaulted again.

A blue Rover car was parked nearby with four people in it.

The man was then punched and kicked again, although he is not sure if the four men in the car were involved.

Eventually, his attackers left and the man called police. He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment. He suffered a perforated eardrum and bruising. The offenders are described as black, with Jamaican accents. One was in his early 20s, about 5ft 9in tall with small dreadlocks.

The second offender had longer dreadlocks, and was of a more muscular build than his accomplice.

Lucy Ferguson, Oxford police spokesman, said: "Police would like to hear from anyone with information about this incident -- including anyone who may have found the victim's baseball cap."
