More than 15 firefighters were needed to tackle a blaze at a takeaway in Abingdon, which started in a deep-fat fryer.
The fire broke out at about 2.50pm on Friday in the Imperial Oriental Takeaway, in Ock Street.
All the people inside the three-storey building escaped safely after the blaze started.
Firefighters from Abingdon and Wantage were called to the incident and had to use specialised extinguishers to deal with the hot fat.
They had to cut away some of the interior fittings of the building to tackle the fire when flames spread into an extractor unit.
The blaze was under control by 5.15pm but firefighters remained on the scene into the evening to continue to damp down and ensure that the fire did not re-ignite.
