Fairground and theme park rides were constructed by pupils in an hour, for a contest.
Craig Whitty, 11 Children aged 10 and 11 at King's Meadow primary school, Shakespeare Drive, Bicester, took part in a competition run by the Oxford Trust and Curioxity, the young people's science based exhibition at the Old Fire Station in George Street, Oxford.
The youngsters were given a huge box of the K'Nex construction kit and 60 minutes in which to create a theme park or fairground ride.
Deputy head Jo Laybourn said: "We had 65 children working in pairs making up the most incredible rides. We had everything from ferris wheels to flumes."
The winning entry at King's Meadow of a horizontal ferris wheel built by pupils David Hurst and Lewis Reading goes into the Oxfordshire regional final of the contest.
