Oxfordshire Over 50s slipped to a one-run defeat in a friendly against Hampshire Over 50s at Mays Bounty, Basingstoke.
Alec Inns That was despite a tremendous finish in which Banbury's Andy Smith and Bill Thompson from Aston Rowant, put on 30 runs for the last wicket, but it wasn't enough.
Danny Hall from Henley, was in cracking form for Oxfordshire, with a solid knock of 60, ably-supported by a superb half-century from Abingdon Vale's Alec Inns.
Bicester & North Oxford's Andrew Wingfield Digby, who captained the side for the first time, in the absence of Phil Garner, starred with the ball, taking 4-36, as Hampshire reached 203-9.
He was backed up well by Oxford Down's Ian Caunce who took 2-33. Smith (1-27) and Thompson (1-22) were the other wicket-takers.
Oxfordshire are now preparing for their next match in the national tournament at Whitchurch, Shropshire, on Wednesday, May 22.
