A new chairman has taken the reins at South Oxfordshire District Council.
John Griffin, previously vice-chairman, was elected at the council's annual meeting on Thursday when last year's chairman, Eleanor Hards, stood down.
Mr Griffin is the Liberal Democrat councillor for Crowmarsh and has served on the council for seven years. Members were told his interests included archaeology and the environment.
Mrs Hards was thanked by council leader Jan Morgan for her professionalism, and for being a great ambassador for south Oxfordshire.
Liberal Democrat Roger Bell, who represents Wheatley, was elected as the new vice-chairman.
