Northway Boys failed in their bid to add the Under 16 Knockout Cup to their Oxfordshire Youth Cup triumph, after they lost 2-1 after extra time to Highworth Town in the final at Abingdon United.
Highworth were ahead after just six minutes when a defensive error allowed Nick Stanley to slot the ball past Northway keeper William McBain.
In the second half, Northway came out determined to show the form that a few weeks ago saw them destroy Oxford City in the Youth Cup, and they were rewarded with an outstanding equaliser from Jason Hallett, who fired home a tremendous 30-yard effort.
Northway had chances to win the tie, but as the game went to extra time, Highworth grabbed the upper hand, and Paddy Slattery fired home with six minutes remaining to seal the trophy for the Wiltshire outfit.
