Two teenagers started jail terms on Friday for robbing students in Oxford.
The two 17-year-olds, who cannot be named for legal reasons, stole from three students on January 6, Oxford Crown Court heard.
John Simmons, prosecuting, said the students, aged between 16 and 18, were walking home at 12.30am after a party at Oxford Brookes University.
A car pulled up in London Road, Headington, and one of the youths jumped out before demanding money.
The other stayed in the front passenger seat of the car and banged a metal pipe against the door.
The youths stole wallets containing cash, bank cards and student identification cards. One of the youths later doctored one of the cards so he could buy alcohol.
In a separate incident, later on January 6, the pair approached another student near the White Horse pub in London Road, and asked for directions before demanding he hand over money. But their victim refused and fled.
The youths both admitted three charges of robbery and one of attempted robbery.
