Prince Charles received a warm welcome in Oxfordshire on Saturday when he was guest of honour at a fundraising concert in Dorchester Abbey.
Prince Charles is presented with a posy of flowers by 12-year-old Victoria Lucas
People applauded as he arrived and chatted with the crowd, before attending a performance by the Takacs Quartet.
Rosie, a bearded collie, planted two friendly paws on the Prince's shoulders as he talked with her owners, village residents Andy and Lani Shepherd.
He was introduced to other special guests by the Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, Hugo Brunner and presented with a posy of flowers by 12-year-old Victoria Lucas.
Victoria, a pupil at Our Lady's Convent in Abingdon, said: "I was a bit nervous.
"He said the flowers were very nice and asked me where they came from."
Her mother, Sue, who accompanied her, added: "He said his sweet peas hadn't come out yet so we were lucky to have them at this time of year."
Gary Turner, an instructor with the Oxfordshire Army Cadet Force, also chatted with the prince.
Mr Turner said: "He seems quite a relaxed bloke. He's not very snobby and seems quite friendly to talk to."
Prince Charles also found time before the concert to visit an exhibition of paintings by Dorchester artist Rebecca Hind.
The concert was organised by Music in Country Churches, of which Prince Charles is patron, to raise money towards the £5m abbey appeal.
