Tony Stevens A lorry enthusiast died suddenly next to his favourite truck, according to one of his closest friends.
Tony Stevens, 58, of Hawkins Way, Wootton, near Abingdon, was an Eddie Stobart lorry spotter, and travelled around the UK on the look out for the haulier's vehicles.
He died of a heart attack at the Truckfest lorry rally at Peterborough.
His oldest friend, Pat Rench, of Amey Crescent, Wootton, said: "There was nothing to give us any indication. He hadn't been ill or anything. He was there one minute and gone the next.
"He was standing next to his favourite type of truck, a T-Cab Scania American-style lorry, when it happened. It was an absolutely wonderful lorry and he had gone to the show to buy a model of one.
"After his heart attack lorry drivers rushed to help him, but it was too late."
Mr Stevens, a former plant operator, was so enthusiastic about lorries that his house was full of models. He had lived in Wootton all his life and was a well-known member of the community.
Mrs Rench said: "I was friends with him since I was three. For the last 26 years he helped me with my husband, Richard, who is mentally and physically disabled."
