North Leigh chairman Pete King has vowed to do all he can to ensure the west Oxfordshire club can progress up the non-League pyramid, after his side won the Hellenic League championship.
Speaking at the club's end-of-season awards ceremony, King explained that the main reason they did not seek promotion was nothing to do with ground grading, but because it was not financially viable to play in the Dr Martens League Eastern Division.
He said: "Had we been able to take a place in the Western Division, you can be sure that the necessary ground improvements would have been made, but I'm not willing to bankrupt the club by moving into the Eastern Division.
"With the proposed restructuring of the leagues, we just have to be patient, and if we are in a position in the future, we will certainly seek promotion.
Defender Stuart Huxley claimed two of the club's top awards, winning both the supporters' and players' player-of-the-year awards, while Nick Hughes won the managers' vote.
