Final preparations are being made for parties across Oxfordshire as the county looks set to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee in style.
Events include a black tie function at Brookes Restaurant in Oxford Brookes University on Thursday, May 30 at 7pm.
On Monday, June 3, Street Party in the Park will take place at Binfield Heath between noon and 4pm, and a street party and parade will be held in Ramsden from noon. A Jubilee fete will be held on the same day in St Giles, Oxford, between 2pm and 4.30pm.
This weekend, nearly 150 villagers in Cottisford, near Bicester, took part in the county's first major street party to celebrate the Golden Jubilee.
Oxfordshire County Council's highways department in Bicester told organiser Ted Flaxman it was the first road closure they had dealt with for Jubilee celebrations.
Mr Flaxman said: "The day went very well and everybody enjoyed themselves."
The party centred around the village green, and children's entertainment was provided by Shaky Jake's one-man band, and stilt-walker Nigel Roder.
Mr Flaxman said: "The children had a marvellous time."
The day's celebrations ended with a pig roast.
The guest of honour was Grace Broughton, a former village school teacher, who retired in 1967.
Children were given a disposable camera to make their own record of the day, and each household was given a commemorative tankard.
