Preparations for the Golden Jubilee are in full swing at Upper Heyford.
At a public meeting residents from Upper Heyford village and Heyford Park, the former US Air Force base, gave the thumbs up to plans for a children's party and a party for the over 60s, on June 1.
However, permission for a further party is yet to be granted.
Small committees have been set up to organise the events, which will be held at the village hall and recreation ground.
Paula Hind, who runs the youth and community centre at Heyford Park, said: "I will be spreading the word about the Jubilee parties."
