People in Oxford got a taste of Anglo-Saxon life at the Museum of Oxford on Saturday.

Museum staff and volunteers dressed in period costume and people took part in a range of activities, including a Saxon pottery workshop, a Victorian washday, and a meeting with an English Civil War soldier.
The museum's new auditorium was opened by Oxford City councillor Maureen Christian, executive member for culture.
She said: "I hope that the public will take advantage of the open day and explore the history of Oxford."
