An energy-saving campaign by pupils has cut a primary school's annual power bills by £1,600.
The children display their posters
Children at St Michael's CofE Primary School in Steventon, near Abingdon helped cut electricity and gas costs by turning down the heating and turning off lights and unattended computer monitors.
It followed advice from the Vale Energy Team at the Vale of White Horse District Council on how to avoid a fee that could have been payable under the Government's climate change levy unless reductions were made.
The children's achievement was celebrated at a special assembly this week when they showed off their campaign posters.
