Four Iraqi men found clinging to the bottom of a lorry in Oxford on Monday are claiming asylum.
A German lorry was stopped and searched by Oxford police at the junction of Sunderland Avenue and Banbury Road, near the Cutteslowe roundabout on Monday afternoon.
A Home Office spokesman said the men, all Iraqi nationals, were discovered hanging from the bottom of the lorry and required medical examination in case they had suffered injuries as a result.
They were taken to The Horton Hospital, Banbury, where they were pronounced well.
The men are now claiming asylum and staying in temporary accommodation in Croydon, Surrey.
