A former Witney police officer now working as a crime prevention expert has received a Chief Constable's commendation.
Roger Hampshire is one of three police staff in Thames Valley rewarded for the excellence of their work in ensuring homes and business premises are designed to avert crime.
Mr Hampshire, now a civilian after 30 years' police service, said: "It's very satisfying to know we're helping stop crime from happening in the first place, and always nice to gain recognition for our work."
He received the award at a ceremony at Drayton Park Golf Club, Abingdon.
