Plans to create a new park in Faringdon have been boosted by a £78,000 grant.
The Countryside Agency is helping to fund the first phase of work on the 10-acre site, which will be called Folly Park.
Developers have already agreed to give £28,000 to the project and the Vale of White Horse District Council has contributed £25,000.
The park, on land off the A420, will include an area for picnics, walking, flying kites and ball games, a community art project and pond.
Faringdon district councillor Jim Moley said: "I'm hugely grateful to the Countryside Agency for their valuable support."
