The Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police, Peter Neyroud, has received a long service commendation after 22 years in the police.
Mr Neyroud, 42, became the country's youngest chief constable earlier this year. He took over from Sir Charles Pollard, who stepped down after 11 years in the post.
Mr Neyroud joined Thames Valley from West Mercia, where he was Deputy Chief Constable. He holds several posts with the Association of Chief Police Officers.
Mr Neyroud, who lives in the Oxford area and is married with four children, became interested in a police career while a student at Oxford University in the 1970s. He joined Hampshire Constabulary in 1980 and rose through the ranks before moving to West Mercia in 1998.
