Eynsham's Mark Mitchell continued his excellent season as he cruised to victory in the under 1400cc banger racing meeting at Standlake Arena.

Mitchell, who has already secured the 2002 points championship, will now represent the track at the Champion of Champions race at Birmingham Wheels stadium this Saturday.

Around 80 bangers competed at the Alan Barton Memorial meeting, with a further 90 taking part in the non-contact classes, where Michael Hayes enjoyed a comfortable win in the junior final.

Banbury racer Richard Barton made the successful transition from junior to adult classes as he won the Production A class final in his mini.
