Chipping Norton could not dent Henley Wanderers' 100 per cent record at the top of Division 1, when they went down to a 14-10 defeat at the Greystones.
After a keenly-fought first half, Wanderers led 11-3, thanks to two penalties and a try against one penalty by Adam Smith.
The second half started with Chippy winning some good ruck ball, which enabled Jon Hickman to go over between the posts, for Smith to convert.
Henley then kicked a penalty, which led to a nail-biting finish, with Chippy pressurising in vain.
Oxford moved up to third spot with a convincing 26-6 win at home to Pennanians.
Alistair MacLennan and Simon Bagnall scored tries for Oxford, whose other points came from two conversions and three penalties from Roy Telling plus a drop goal by Rodriguez.
