English League: Oxford Hawks bounced back from the disappointment of their defeat by Havant with a convincing 3-0 win at home to Peterborough in Division 2.
Hawks dominated the game and their first goal came in the tenth minute when a move down the left ended with a ball being played into the D from Dawie Holley, who found German Under 16 international Steffan Witte.
His first effort was saved, but he managed to collect the rebound and finished clinically.
Hawks struck again six minutes later when Simon Dawson found himself with only the keeper to beat and he made no mistake from close range.
Peterborough rallied in the second half, but were unable to break down Hawks defence, with Richard Fogden, Neil Jones and vice-captain Nick Styles to the fore.
Hawks saved the best until last with a goal from Ed Baldock in the 45th minute. A Peterborough shot corner broke down and Hawks moved the ball quickly upfield, before Baldock converted Witte's pin-point cross for his first goal of the season.
The win moves Hawks move into fifth place.
