Young singers, dancers and actors from Scout troops and Guide companies across Oxfordshire have auditioned for next year's Oxford Gang Show.

Gang Show hopefuls show they are prepared

Boys and girls, aged eight to 12, strutted their stuff at the 10th Oxford Scout headquarters in William Street, New Marston, Oxford, on November 17.

Mo Tweney, one of the production team, said: "We were pleasantly surprised by the entrants, especially the boys, as they can always find something else to do like football

" I think the results of the auditions augur well for the show."

Cast members in the older group, for people aged 12 to more than 60, have already begun rehearsing.

Oxford Gang Shows began in 1952. Next year's production, from March 10 to 15, will be the 52nd.

It will be the 24th to be staged at the Apollo Theatre, formerly the New Theatre, in George Street, Oxford.
