People in Wallingford have been praised for their generosity in boosting the town's contribution to Children In Need to well over last year's figure.
Wallingford Rotary Club, Sinodun Rotary Club and Wallingford Rotoract raised more than £3,500 through collections from people in the street and cars.
All the schools in the town also took part with fundraising activities, along with scores of pubs and shops.
Linda Willshire and Justine Whitfield from Clarks shoe shop did a 10-mile sponsored walk from Cholsey to Benson.
The day centre at Wallingford Community Hospital had a cake stall.
Organiser Eira Hoare said: "People were very generous indeed. We do not have the final figures yet but people can rest assured that Wallingford topped last year's contribution to the vital work of Children In Need.
"It was a great community effort -- Children In Need seems to bring out the best in most people."
