Reaching her 50th birthday has inspired jewellery maker and craft fair organiser Margaret King to tackle a new challenge.
Margaret King
Next April Mrs King, of Moorland Road, Witney, will spend 11 days trekking in New Zealand to raise money for the mental health charity Mencap.
She said: "I have pledged to raised £2,600 for Mencap so they can help more children and adults with a learning disability, including an expansion of family support and advisory services."
She raised her first £200 at one of the regular Kings Craft fairs she organises in the Langdale Hall, Witney. All the proceeds from the next two fairs on December 7 and December 21 will be added to the sponsorship.
Next Wednesday (November 27), she will be holding a quiz night in the Langdale Hall. Entry costs £5 per person for teams of up to eight.
