A specialist worker will be appointed to review the provision of services for elderly people in Oxford over the coming year.
Age Concern plans to recruit a development worker early next year to scrutinise the care and services offered to elderly people in the city.
Chief executive of Age Concern in Oxfordshire, Mary Daniel, said: "We've become aware of gaps in the provision of services. The development worker will investigate the gaps, and work closely with elderly people to look at a whole range of issues."
