A council is putting up a £250 cash prize to attract people who do not recycle their household waste.
Volunteer families will be given a composter and a green box. The amount of waste recycled during the next three months will be weighed, and the most successful recycler will get the £250 prize.
South Oxfordshire District Council is keen to get as many people as possible recycling.
Its green boxes take plastics, papers, cardboard and cans and are collected every week.
Anyone interested in taking up the recycling challenge should call Matthew Rowland Jones at the council on 01491 823457.
