A bereaved parent has urged the public to support the Oxford Children's Hospital Campaign for the sake of our future.
Nigel Wemyss, whose eight-year-old son Luke died of leukaemia in April, was one of three speakers at a meeting on Wednesday night who addressed Oxfordshire residents about the benefits of the new £20m hospital.
He said: "Some, like Luke, won't make it, but there are hundreds who do and they deserve the best we can give them."
Oxford Mail health reporter Victoria Owen spoke about Bristol Children's Hospital, which was opened 18 months ago, and paediatrician Dr Anne Thomson explained the benefits of treating young patients in a dedicated building.
The Oxford Children's Hospital Campaign is raising £15m towards the project.
To offer support, call the campaign office on 01865 222594.
